Special emphasis is placed on raising children's awareness of nature. At the Sonnwies, children playfully learn about the daily routine on the hotel's own organic farm and actively help out. Feeding the animals, mucking out the barn, daily egg hunts, adopting animals, pony rides, tractor rides and hay rides are all on the program. Young artists feel particularly at home with creative activities in the great outdoors, such as painting on the wooden easel.

There are also all kinds of special activities in the pleasure garden and in the private forest: planting small beds with seeds, building a dam or the nature treasure hunt. In the manufactory, children can help prepare typical South Tyrolean dishes such as dumplings, Kaiserschmarrn or fresh farmhouse butter and enjoy them afterwards.

Farm to table for families

The 1,200 m² in-house Culinary Garden is an essential supplier for the Sonnwies kitchen and freshly harvested vegetables are processed daily. There are weekly garden tours with gardener Monika so that children can experience and understand these natural cycles up close. In addition to the farm's own produce, food is sourced from small regional manufacturers and partners in the immediate vicinity.

Unique alpine experiences for the whole family

In addition to the hotel's own alpine hut, the Kalkofen Hütte, right at the foot of the Dolomites, there are a variety of gentle and impressive hikes to pristine alpine pastures in the immediate vicinity. One family-friendly hiking destination, for example, is the Kreuzwiesenalm on the Lüsner Alm. Here you can enjoy traditional alpine dishes and homemade cheese creations. Johannes has been producing various types of alpine cheese and other dairy products in the alpine dairy for over 10 years, which are also deliciously prepared in the Sonnwies kitchen.
