New climate protection label and further reduction of our CO2 footprint

Since 2020, we have been recording our CO2 emissions together with ClimatePartner and calculating the carbon footprint. We are very pleased that we were able to reduce our total output again in 2023 (4.62t CO2) compared to the previous year 2022 (5.06t CO2).

How do we reduce CO2 emissions?

Wherever possible, we avoid and reduce CO2 emissions, for example by shipping our products in climate-neutral kickbags or by avoiding unnecessary transportation routes and reducing packaging material. We also enable our employees to work flexible hours and from home or reduce business trips to a minimum.

Financing a certified climate protection project

We finance a certified climate protection project in the amount of the remaining CO2 emissions. These save CO2 - for example through reforestation measures or by replacing climate-damaging technologies with climate-friendly alternatives. We have once again opted for the combined climate protection + marine conservation project, Plastic Bank. For every tonne of CO2 saved through the contribution via a certified climate protection project, 10 kg of plastic is collected in coastal regions. In this way, plastic is intercepted before it enters the sea and sensitive marine ecosystems are protected. You can find more information about our climate protection project here.

New label “Financial climate contribution”

This voluntary commitment is confirmed with the label “financial climate contribution” (formerly “climate neutral”). Each financial climate contribution label is given a unique ID number, in our case 14237-2002-1001. This number and the associated URL make it possible to trace the financing and transparently view the amount of CO2 and the climate protection project.
